Path: Montaner - Chiesetta di Sant’Antonio - Colòn - Lamar - Col Alt e rientro
Lenght: 12 Km
Difference in altitude: 590 m
Walking time: 5 hours
A historical-naturalistic itinerary to retrace the escape of the young partisans of Montaner that marked the beginning of the Vittoriese Resistance. Furthermore, until the 1960s, this was one of the “vie dell’alpeggio” that was held in Cansiglio every year.
Park in the square in Montaner and take the paved road that starts behind the Post Office with the red-white-red sign n. 1061 and the indication "Road of Divine Providence". Go up for about 20 m and, near a statue of an angel, continue straight. At the intersection turn left and then immediately right following the signs for 1061. Go past the beautiful stone house with a large garden on the left and take the path on the right that runs along the property. Continue straight on along the path and, coming out onto the concrete road, turn left to resume trail 1061 which, from here, retraces an old paved road up to the "Chiesetta del Santo", built around 1930 on a pre-existing capital dating back to 1700. After the church, continue uphill along the path 1061 to the north.
Once again on the road, turn right and continue the white road. In the locality of Lama Rossa, where the ruins are still visible, continue on the flat until you reach Casera Col de Faè. Near a “lama” with a sign of the Alpine Community of the Prealps, take the path to the left and continue between two dry walls in a steep climb until you reach the grassy terraces.
Gaining altitude, always under thick vegetation, the slope is ascended with a valley below. After crossing a dry bridle of rocks, leave the bottom of the valley and turn right to go up the ridge until you reach a clearing where the ruins of the Casera Busa di Landro are visible.
Continue in a northerly direction, towards the end of the clearing and, in correspondence with a reforestation of spruce, you can observe on the right a natural cave with horizontal development, called Busa di Landro. From here go up the evocative zigzag path, surrounded by blocks of karstic stones covered with mosses and you will come out at the Lama di Larbìn, in the Colon area.
Follow the opposite forest track which leads to the paved road, turn right and descend for a few hundred meters to the “Parco dei Carbonai” in the Lamar area. Go past it and once reached the Col Alt road, turn right and continue along the forest road. Near a small capital it is possible to observe on the left an old “roccolo”, now in disuse. Go past the unpaved road which, slightly downhill and to the left, leads to Casera Col Alt. Once past the “casera”, enter an open area and reach Col Alt, in which top with rises the Monument dedicated to Partisans.
To return, retrace your steps.
