Path: Sonego – Agnelezza – Monte Pizzoc – Sonego
Lenght: 11,5 km
Difference in altitude: 1.130 m
Walking time: 4-5 hours
Leave the car near the hamlet of Sonego, a small but characteristic urban agglomeration in the extreme north of the town of Fregona. Continue northwards up a steep slope (Via Cal De Casal), first on a paved road and then on a narrow-cemented road until you pass the votive capital and reach the dirt road above the "bridle” on the Carron stream
Keeping to the left, continue on the dirt road along the Rio Dolza to the saddle. Then turn right and take the Alta Via n° 6 (Triangle signpost - Sentiero dell'Agnelezza). The path climbs pleasantly up between hornbeams and beeches, initially alternating the ascent with easy steps on a slight slope.
Crossing a hazelnut grove, you quickly reach the Grotta della Madonna Dell'Agnelezza, a resting place and a place of prayer for mountain lovers. Here, they open and close the hiking season - every year in late April and late October - with the celebration of a Holy Mass animated by the Choir Cai of Vittorio Veneto.
Continuing along the path, you reach some steps and then a panoramic point where, on clear days, you can see all the way to the Venetian lagoon.
We ignore the two forks to the right of the path, keeping the trail sign, which leads us in a few minutes out of the woods, onto the grassy part of the south-west slope of the Mount. Then we turn right between some shrubs and climb to the ridge enjoing a panoramic view of part of the Val Lapisina and a glimpse of the underlying lakes until reaching, with steep and gravelly stretches, the summit of Monte Pizzoc near the AVAB cippus. From here, spacing all around you can see on the left some Dolomite peaks among which Mount Pelmo is easily recognizable due to its “thorne” form ("' l caregòn del Signor"). To the right you can find the peaks of the Alpago including the Monte Cavallo, at the foot of which lies the Piana del Cansiglio.
Continue east on Sentiero H3 which first runs along a grassy area and then onto a dirt track to the “Rifugio Città” di Vittorio Veneto. From here starts the route called "the Direttissima" due to the shortness of the path and the steepness of the descent which. The route pass next to some pylons of the old cableway of the cement plant that led downstream - to Sant'Andrea in Vittorio Veneto - the material extracted from the quarry; whose remains are still visible at the Rifugio. The route arrives hastily to intersect the Path of the Bracconiere with signpost n° 981 in the “Costa Fontana” area to continue in front of the source. Then turn towards the south and, always in steep descent, you enter the forest road "Del Santo". From here, turning first to the right and then keeping the left, you will find the dirt road and, going backwards, you return to the village of Sonego.
